Israel, a blessing to the nations PDF Print E-mail
''And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.’’ (Micah 5:7).

Israel is a blessing amongst the nations. They remain a blessing wherever they are a blessing because of the covenant of God to His friend Abraham.  The covenant which is everlasting, obligates God to watch over them and to keep His Word to this chosen people as His own.

Here, the prophet Micah by The Spirit of God, gives us this insight, that as the dew comes to water and refresh the vegetations day and night, so is Israel amongst the nations.

All vegetation needs the refreshing of dew to prepare it for the harshness of the day and to sooth and replenish it in the night. This is what Israel is to the world.

With this insight we see how much the nations need Israel. She is our refreshing. Wherever, Israel goes, The LORD is obligated to going and showing His goodness.

Out of Israel is come The Messiah, our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ, whose presence through His followers brings a refreshing too. All of this goodness stems from the nation of Israel. May we remember to cherish and pray for this people. In their blessing is our blessing.

Shalom.
